Founded in 1932, Eastern Sports Club fields both a football team and a basketball team under its banner.
The football team is one of the longest-standing clubs in Hong Kong's Premier League, having claimed the top-flight title 5 times. Further honours include 11 Senior Shield titles, 5 FA Cup victories, and 2 Governor's Cup trophies. The club reached its greatest heights during the legendary 'Eastern Dynasty' era in the 1990s, winning the treble in both the 1992/93 and 1993/94 seasons.
In the 2019/20 season, the club captured both the FA Cup and Senior Shield to become double cup champions, and re-entered the AFC Cup main draw for the first time since 2017. In the 2022 AFC Cup, the team swept Group J with two victories to advance as group winners — the first time in the club's 90-year history to reach the AFC Cup knockout stage.
On the hardwood, Eastern formed Hong Kong's first professional basketball franchise in 2015, competing in both the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) and the Hong Kong First Division Basketball League. Eastern became the first Hong Kong team to enter the ABL, and in 2016 claimed the ABL championship — the first-ever ABL title won by a Hong Kong club. The following year, coming back from 0–2 down in the local league finals, the team completed a stunning turnaround to claim their first Hong Kong First Division championship.
Beyond on-court success, Eastern Sports Club is deeply committed to giving back to the community — through school visits that nurture young talent, professionally structured training pathways, and bringing the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship into schools across Hong Kong.
